As someone who didn’t know the story, I was really interested in the details of what happened
Tale
During the 1972 Munich Olympics, an American sports reporting team gets involved in covering a hostage situation involving Israeli athletes. The performances are all believable, the comedy is spot on, and the pacing and runtime don’t leave the viewer guessing at the outcome before the credits roll.
They did a good job of not flagging plot threads
Some might find the lack of a change of scenery tiring, but I think in this case it worked. I think they wanted you to feel like the control room was your world, and to feel the way they did on that eventful day.
Forcing you to think without moralizing
They touched on the political and emotional elements well. Mixing in footage from the actual event, including live-action footage, definitely draws the viewer more into the experience.
Although it is not a film that I would want to watch repeatedly, it is a very well made film that I would recommend to friends who like this type of film
Nice touch.
