It follows a team of British intelligence agents who serve as a dumping ground for MI5 due to their career-ending mistakes. In the background of the credits for “Camera Trainees” you can see Alfie Oldman, Gary Oldman’s son. He has worked on several films that Gary has starred in. Featured in Graham Norton I liked: Kristin Scott Thomas/George Takei/Claudia Winkleman/Jamie Oliver/First Aid Kit (2022). In my mind, Jackson Lamb was Timothy Spall and Katherine Standish was Olivia Coleman and I think they would have nailed it. That said, the cast is perfect, they are all great. Also a big shout out to the scouts, Slough House is exactly how I imagined it. The mood, intrigue and pacing are just as good as Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy. I loved the books so much and I’m so glad this one didn’t get the over-the-top Hollywood treatment that these things usually get. It kept the grime and humor that made the books so enjoyable. I’m on episode four and I can’t stop.
